With the help of this forum, I have decided to regear to 4.56’s w/ 285/75-16 on my ’00 V6. When regearing a vehicle that is equipped with computer systems and so fourth, do you have to recalibrate any of your on board computer systems for the change in driveline specs to get optimal performance? Is this possible on a V6 Tacoma?
Hope someone understands what I’m talking about.

I'm using 315's and regared to 4.88. I didn't recal anything, and shift points etc. are all fine. My speedo is a little off, when it says im running 80mph, I'm really at about 73. I think the 4.56's will be perfect for the 285's.

All you'll need to do is reprogram your computer in your head of the mph difference ;) . I sit at about 81 when i'm going 70, i could get a new speedo gear w/diff. teeth count but i can deal w/the difference for now.
