If you havent seen this race in person, you are missing out. Even if you have seen countless desert races, rock racing is just not the same. Much more adrenaline.

I will be out Wed night til Sat am, before heading over to Cougar Buttes just a couple streets down for the SoCal chapter run.

From the Ultra 4 racing series website:
http://ultra4racing.com/category/king_of_the_hammers/

The event that started it all, the 6th running of the Griffin King of the Hammers will be the largest to date with an expanded Vendor show, and additional entertainment.Look for some exciting changes to the race course as well as improved spectator areas. Again the event will take place during the second week of February and the main event will be held on Friday, February 10, 2012. 4Wheel parts will host the Time Trials and Last Chance Qualifier and make daily deliveries of parts to the lake bed during the week of KOH. Need an axle or Ring and Pinion? Just head over to the 4Wheel parts Hammertown branch and place your order for next day delivery. Make your travel plans now for the biggest Hammertown yet.

Robbie Gordon is also gonna be running in KOH this year as well.

The Every Man Challenge that I believe is taking place this weekend, will give your average Joe Schmoes a chance at a KOH victory, as well as different classes, SXS races, a short-course in-field view and tons and tons of vendors.
Make it out to the main bon fire after the race Fri night and party it up with racers from across the globe after their losses and victories. Last year we were hanging out with and Icelandic racer and shared the country's native drink, while chatting it up with Jesse Combs. After-hours parties were everywhere through Hammertown well in the early morning.

Word of caution; Last year BLM and Sheriffs had a definite presences, so keep your crap together and dont draw attention to your self cruising through Hammertown.

More information on this race is at Pirate;

See you on the course!
