i did a search and got lots of Tacoma stuff, but nothing on whether 89 and up front fenders (with the round openings) would swap on to an 88 and later truck (with the angular opening).

i would think they would bolt up but was looking to see if anyone has done before.

thnaks.

Really, 79 views and no one can tell me if later model fender will fit on an 88?

i think there was a redesign in the middle of 1988

4th generation: 1984-1988
5th generation: 1988-1995

so i guess it kinda depends.

Its 2 different body styles and it will just look stupid if you tried to mix and match panels. There, I just said what 79 viewers thought, but wouldn't post

Not 100% true. Ive seen fiberglass round opening fenders for the 84-88 years matched with the 84-88 cab and a round fendered box off a 89-95 pick up. I liked it better that the square fenders.

I have no idea if factory fenders would bolt up though.

What?

Um the trucks were 2nd gen in 84-88 and 3rd gen in 89-95.
Just because the redesign was in the middle of 1988 doesn't change anything. You won't find 2 separate 1988 trucks with 2 different body styles.

The 89 fenders can work but wont really work. The bottom bolts and the one in the door area dont match up. The fender is rounder, the front part of the fender sits a lil lower then an 84-88 and the part where the door n fender meet is totally off.
I did mock up my 02 fiberglass fenders on an 89-95 cab, but thats a different story.
