Looking at buying an '89 4wd pickup w/ 270k miles. It's in good condition, new BFG TA/KO 31's, no rust, and appears well maintained. Bit of what looks like a RMS leak.
All the major maintenance has been done. $8K is the asking which seems fairly normal around here (California bay area).
Couple questions...
Price sound ok?
Any seat swaps available on these? The bench seat is ridiculous.
Is the '89 3.0L going to be a problem? I read that Toyota switched to the junk head gasket in 1990 so this one may not be vulnerable to that issue.

The 3.Slow might be OK if the head gasket was properly replaced. No real way to know that for sure. If you have a leaky rear main seal, then you'll obviously need to drop the trans to replace. A shop will charge $750-900 to do that work.

Lots of aftermarket seat options, but most involve fabbing seat brackets to fit them.

Price would be considered high IMHO if it wasn't for the high demand on the used car market right now. So that price is probably more inline with demand now. I would have said $6k tops previously.
