I have a 95.5 4WD Manual Tacoma. I have the original center console with the lid over the storage. In front of that is that semi-useless tray. I have the sliding cup holder right above the HVAC controls which conveniently hides all of the controls when I have my water cup held by the sliding cup holder.

I noticed later models have cup holders right in front of the storage area on the console. I like this setup better because it doesn't hide the hvac controls.

Has anyone every installed one of the later models' console assembly in the 95.5 model ?

Yeah, that sliding cup holder sucks. Never looked into trying to swap it. Not sure how different the dash is in the later years.

I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure they all will bolt up. But, you'll probably want to get the shifter trim for the same year as the console so there isn't any interference between the two.

Not sure what the bone yards by you are getting for interior trim parts these days. Round here it's generally too damn much.
