My 01 Tacoma has never had AC service but I run the AC regularly to keep the seals lubed. It blows fairly cold air but only when I'm driving at speed. At stops the AC doesn't work.
I just refreshed an old Honda Civic of AC and it blows cold just sitting. I checked the AC low line pressure on my Tacoma and it's good.
Why might my 01 Tacoma with 230K miles have good AC pressure but be weak?
The trick is that it works great if I'm driving at speed only?

Sounds like your evaporator up front by the radiator is dirty and doesn’t get enough air flow through it unless your up to speed. Some evap coil cleaner and a good rinse would probably help.

Ac loses a small amount of refrigerant over time. It does need alittle added over the years for proper operation.
