Has anyone installed an amp and subs with a stock toyota deck? If so, do you recommend it or not. My buddy has a 03 Tundra and has has done it, but is not too happy with it. Just trying to avoid buying a new deck when this one works just fine.

I have the CD/Tape deck. I was told that there is a factory amp that would be bypassed if I had an aftermarket deck installed. If this is true, are there RCA outputs on this amp i could use? Thanks in advance for the input.

I'm running two amps, a crossover, and a single sub on the stock CD/tape deck. I don't recomend it. I used one of those line converter things so that I could use RCA cables and it is a POS. In the end you will be much happier with a new head unit. The sound is better and wiring it will be easier, especially if it has the proper pre-outs for your speaker setup.

I agree, save for a new HU.

i think you will be much happier with a new HU. you will be able to control the sound much better, it puts out more power to your door speakers, it has more features, and has amp imputs.

There is a factory amp? oops missed that one hehe.
I agree with everybody else, save for the head unit. No matter how much power you run to your subs, no matter what kind of quality your amps are, you're limited to the sound output from your deck. Garbage in will still be garbage out (ok it might be a little more pretty.) Esp when you have to consider you need to run a converter to run from the stock deck, I'd recommend saving for the deck. Even a 100-200 Pioneer deck (my person fav, a lot of my friends like alpine) will do wonders. Good luck.
