Just curious if Amsoil has stepped up to the plate yet and offers an air filter yet for the 2005 V6 Tacoma?
Also, Does Amsoil offer the filter alone, or do they also have the intake kit similar to K&N?

I do not think there is an air filter for the 4.0 yet.

AMSOIL is pretty serious about producing quality products that work. It is very unlikely that they will make any power robbing hot air intakes.

I have heard so many different opinions on the K&N intake system that I don't know what to believe. As you called it, "Hot Air" intakes, I don't see how you get more horsepower from sucking in hot air, but if that's the case, wouldn't the deck plate mod do the same thing? I don't have access to a dyno, so I'm trying to listen to everything and decide what makes the most sense.

Run your own tests and see what works best on your truck.

I can tell you from my dyno testing that the K&N FIPK caused a loss of power on my truck. The deck plate or elbow removal increased power about the same amount.

Feel free to stop by my site and check out the results for yourself. Then go run your own tests, but it all the other tests I have seen confirm that the elbow/deck plate mod is always going to be the best bang for your dollar.
