Mine hangs out over the edges a little, but doesn't effect its performance.

I recall some members complaining about how the Amsoil foam air filter wasn't fitting properly in the air box. I was wondering if they fixed this problem yet. Thanks!
No, they have not fixed it yet. The problem with the new style is hit and miss and the impression I got last time I talked to them is that a new design wasn't going to be out any time soon.

I think they're still "working on it" right now. Some have had fitment problems with the newer designed one with the blue foam ring not fitting correctly in the airbox. I've got the old school all black one and it fits like a glove.
thanks. i couldn't quite remember what the exact problem was.

If you want a foam drop in filter go with a UNI thats what I've been using for a while now and I have zero complaints. Until amsoil fixes the problem I tell any of my customers wanting a filter to go with the UNI. You can order them direct from Uni for about $45.

I am using a HKS filter and am very happy with it after over 20K... it doesn't require oil and I've successfully washed it twice with out foam degradation or problems like I had with the oil type filters...

it has dropped $5 since I bought mine

edit: if link above is to slow: http://www.pipercross.net/
I found that the K&N brand filters are manufacture by these guys....in pipercrosses competition line they have a dust cover eerily simular to that of what Amsoil has on their filters...they can build to spec so if you want a filter like the Amsoil or K&N that fits properly they can probably do it for you...

FYI the Tacoma 3.4L filter is the same as the 93-98 Supras...or the Hilux 3.4L
