Looking for input on this lift kit for a expedition / road trip / light to moderate wheeling setup..
Heavy kit (plan on doing bumpers/winch

I have had a FJ60 with the OME complete kit in the past, but I cannot find any information / pictures of anyone running this setup on a 85 4runner, I have searched and come up with nothing for a few day's, I have found people running just the shocks.

I know for the same price or even cheaper you could go with the allpro / marlin kit....but I don't want another hard core wheeler (I have an 85 hard core crawler) I want to keep it to 2.5 and under lift with 33x10.5's BFG mud's for road trips to moab with the family and mountain bikes, still being able to wheel most of moabs trails. (arb lockers F&R)

Any input would be greatly appreciated.
thx,

here is the truck I have to work with.......thx for the info and link, havn't been on trail gears site in a while...I think the 3" are too much lift, they are also longer and require moving mounts, longer brake lines, borderline high steer, shaft mods...do you think ?

Just out of curiosity, what makes a "Canadian" model. I have had a 84 4runner and an 85 4runner, and live in Canada. Just wondering the differences.
Nice truck by the way, my 84 4runner has been by far my favorite vehicle.

Thanks

Shawn

My 85 had a 3 inch "Super Lift" on it when I bought it. The lift is still available from 4Wheel Parts. Yes it does provide the 3 inches, but the ride was rough and there was no flex. If you are going to be locked f&r you should invest in a high steer, which means an nice 3 to 4 inch lift. Do it right the first time. :2cents:

Here is the old lift:

and right after the 4 inch Marlin lift:

thx,
I have a set of OME springs for the 1st Gen 4Runner. A friend of mine gave them to me to use and I decided to go another direction. I'd be willing to part with them cheap. Let me know.
