I am SERIOUSLY considering this purchase. Had a Superchip in my previous truck (F150) and loved it! However, I wanted to know if anyone has any experience with the 2005 Tacomas. I called the gang over at Unichip at talked to them about their experience. They indicated that they are typically seeing hp gains of 7-8% which a much smoother overall driving experience (due to about 5000 additional data points they load into the standard map). Other than that, shift points are not changed for the 4.0L engine. Looking for some emperical evidence from the trusted folk at TTORA.... thanks

Yes, I have tried it on my O5 Tacoma XRunner. I just dynoed it today and got a hair better then 3 HP from it. Cost per HP is kind of high.

The key is a custom tune. URD has tested a little gadget that will let you remap your fuel curve for best power. We tested it on a 2002 Camry all stock and got 10 HP and 10 Lbs of torque out of it. It improved the responsivness and over all feel also. Not bad for a gadget that runs about $230 and gives you full 3d fuel mapping.

We will also have plug in ECU harness for most applications very soon. The production prototypes were done today and they came out very nice.

...everything
Its about time someone stepped up to the plate to figure out these damn toyota computers. Since some of us are not supercharged do you know what type of numbers are expected for the 3.4's? Even if its 5 extra hp thats still pretty impressive in my book since nothing out there other than the deckplate mod can even come close to that. You and URD have done some pretty impressive stuff when it comes to tacomas and 4 runners. Keep up the good work and success today and into the future. :D

Well, we got 10 hp and 10 Tq on a Camry. That was at the wheels on a DynoJet dyno. Now we could claim "crank shaft HP" like some other companies do that don't even have an engine dyno. They use a chassis dyno and make and inflated guess to try and impress people knowing no one can prove them wrong because no one has an engine dyno. What a scam a lot of these companies pull on all of us.

Anyway, I would expect something simular on a 3.4, but we don't have any that are still stock to play with. The important thing is that it will allow you to custom map your own truck with YOUR engine, and YOUR mods so it will alway make the best power it can and you won't get stuck with someone elses cookie cutter program.

So will these allow you reprogram your computer not only for supercharge applications but also for deckplate mods?

Thanks Gadget... Any estimate on when the harnesses will be done for the '05s? This is something I would be interested in purchasing.
