I'm about to do my spark plugs, wires and well possibly the coil packs. I called the steelship and they wanted 89.53 each! Is it neccessary I'm creaping on 35,000 miles? Where's the better place to get them? I haven't called vatozone yet.

Um, I wouldn't think you would need to change the coil packs or wires any time soon.

With the coil packs, the high voltage flows through a much shorter run than it did with a distributor - thus the smaller gage wires in our plug wires. The wires don't wear out the same way they used to and there is really no need to replace them until they start behaving funny or show visible wear.

I have 137,000 on my packs and wires with no faults due to them.

As for the plugs, I use the NGK recommended in the owners manual, bought from advance auto parts for like $2 a piece. I'm happy, the truck is happy.

Of all the vehicles I've owned I never had to replace the coil. I have 200K miles on my daily driver (civic) and it is still on the original coil. I wouldn't think the Tacos have special needs that would require regular replacing.

Im also really sure that you dont need to replace a your coil packs, becuase they should be one of those parts that works or doesnt, it doesnt loose its performance when it gets older it just stops working someday(if ever) and they cost alot :D
