When I engage my rear locker and then reverse the truck it blows air out the breather. It only seems to do a little bit when I press the button moving forward but constantly and quite a bit of air in reverse. Any ideas?
I suppose it's time for me to post about the RD-89 problem.
Call Tim Lund @ ARB and give him a detailed description of what is happening. He will need the serial # and date purchased of the unit.
the problem:
When the unit is fully warmed up it doesn' leak or seldom does but when it cools down or you are wheeling in snow it leaks like crazy. The locker will still engage but the compressor constantly on drives you nuts.
There was a batch of under-spec internal pistons that wound up in some RD-89s as well as some D-44s (they use the same piston). If this is the problem on yours you can get a new piston kit from ARB.
Pm me for more details
Tim, If you catch this post please feel free to jump in! That is unless all that new found fame has gone to your head
