How do you guys get a nice fillet weld on angles of 45 degrees or less when using a MIG welding gun. The tip seems to far from the metal joint to get a good weld. Should I switch to a smaller tip? Should I speed up the wire feed? Thanks in advance.

"weldor" is a person and "welder" is a machine.

To respond to the orginal post, practice on something before working on your project..

Take an old tip and flaten it out some so its more oval than round then you can get it farther in towards the weld area.
Never thought about that. Thanks. I'm making another pass on some earlier welds and thought someone had some insight.
