You cant use a 2wd V6's transmission because of the gearing. They are made for smaller tires. If noone has said it, pretty much make sure (if you do it) have a donor vehicle. You can take the drive-shafts, tranny, and anything lese you want. I am kind of in the same spot as you, 99 TRD prerunner. But I think I'll save up a few more g's and buy a TRD 4x 5spd.
