I know this subject has been talked about a few times, but mostly on how to install an extra battery. i haven't found any pics of where the second battery was installed. there was one from bajataco but didn't look like he had abs or cruise control. i have a d-cab w/ cruise and abs.

I'm considering putting a 2nd battery in the right front corner of the bed. I already have 01 guage wire from the battery to the bed for an inverter. I ran the wire through a cavity behind the taillight. I think Summit sells a battery box.

Hellroaring has a nice isolater/combiner that I'm considering buying.

i noticed the maya hunter taco (which is an 05) has two optima yellows mounted next to each other in the stock location. the write up said that with a little brain power and some custom battery trays and straps, they were able to make it work. im looking to do this to my 02 taco. food for thought. lemme know if it works.

I'm hoping to do the same thing. Maybe a summer project..... I really like the maya hunter setup.

I had my second running in series with no on/off switches then decided to change the setup. 1st time around the battery was mounted where my rear whinch used to be in my rear bumper, nice flat spot,,, but then got to thinking I have had my Toyota Submarine Pickup with that spot underwater so then I thought better move it and add a on off or the other marine switch 1 2 both switch. So I drove to my auto store bought a marine box cheapo plastic $10 and some extra 4ga wire some new terminal clamps and new crimp on ends. The "new" location is in the passenger side corner of the bed that spot has never been under water. I will use the existing drain hole to run the +/- wires throught making sure to use a gromet on the + so that it doesnt rub through and ground out. "FYI the bed has crappy grounding properties". If I could figure out how to reduce my pics enough I'd post em. Oh yea and its an Optima yellow top .

i was thinking about moving my factory airbox over to where my cruise control is and mount the battery where the airbox is now. been looking for extra airbox to cut up. also found two smaller batteries that would fit where factory battery is now, may try that also.

Yes, I have cruise control, but I haven't gotten around to relocating the module for it yet. It needs to be shifted over about 1/2" from it's OEM mounting position. You are correct - I do not have ABS.
So when are you going to get the rest of the pages on your website up?? I really like your website and the sections I'm most interested in are the ones that are still under construction (onboard air, dual batteries, and electronics). Everyone says you have a nice writeup on dual batteries but I can't pull it up.

I have added the dual battery article. Working on the OBA article now.

Nice, now do another showing two Odysseys batteries in the stock location so I don't have to think about it.
BTW Mobiarc is coming out with a real interesting isolator soon. It uses MOSFETs so the voltage drop is a lot less than regular silicon rectifier diodes. Less voltage drop equates to less heat. It's a little pricey though.
