I am looking into buying some wheels, what backspacing do i need to get rid of the rubbing on 285x75x16 bfg muds.

4" backspacing seems to work good with that combo (provided you're lifted high enough)

I have 4" inches on mine, clears no problem, with enough lift.

RIght now i have the stock yota wheels, i am goin to buy some new wheels, and just wanted to know what backspacing i need, i already have the tires on the truck with stock wheels. so 4" back spacing is good enough!

I ran 285's on factory wheels for several years and just switched to 4" BS. I don't get the frame rub or have trouble clearing te upper A arm any more but I do have additional problems in the pinch weld area. I haven't taken a hammer to the pinch weld yet but I will have to before I hit the trail next week.
