I recently got a set of 34x10.50 SS LTB's and paid a good $60 bucks to have them balanced because the guy told me that super swampers are not balancable with weights you have to use equalizer(a powdery sand material that you put inside the tire)...my alignment was fine..since ive had it done it has NEVER felt balanced...i wonder if its just the super swamper or if its the equalizer? Any info would help..
-Thanks, Bo

These tires are damn near impossible to balance. I had 33 x 12.50s and i tried several times to balance them at the shop. No luck. So i never balanced them. When they where cold they had flat spots, but once they warmed up they did not ride bad at all, for mud tires any way.

As for mud tires? I mean i had a set of mud rovers and they rode like a caddy these ss's will feel balanced for about 1/4 mi and then start shaking the whole truck

I had 33 x 12.50 Thornbirds, they were a bitch to try to balance ,they never got balanced totally. Im not sure how the other Super Swampers are to balance but DONT BUY THORNBIRDS!

My friend had some dunlops, they do ride very nice. In my opinion i think the swampers are more agressive with a softer rubber compound and are tailored more to off road use then to street. Where as say the Dunlops tried to hit the best of both worlds.

Yea the Rovers rode real nice but i needed a more agressive tire for mud and these LTB's perform twice as good..but as of right now the road performance is not doing too good...its prolly just me tho seeing i havent owned a set until now

swampers can be balanced but it is stupid to even think about tryn to balance a bias ply tire. the other mts ride so good because they are radialsand are steel belted to keep them from forming flat spots. the tsl's, boggers, thornbirds, ltbs, and sx are all bias ply tires. unless they have that R in the sizing, it is going to ride like shit. if you want a good swamper that will balance out pretty decent go with the ssr. they ride good and pretty smooth and are not all that loud.

Yea well the only prob with radials is you lose a lot of lug on just about any tire..bias tire usually comes with more of a lug.....so i guess ill just have to deal with the rough highway riding...ive also been told to use antifreeze to balance em by truckers but idk if that will help anymore than the equalizer..
