when i had my SAWs cranked to 3" they almost never rubbed, now at 2.5" I did the pinch and trimmed the tupperware, but they still rub some. backspacing plays a big role. i have 16x8 with 3 3/8" bs. i guess it depends what you're gonna do with the truck.zosimov21 said:Is there anyone running these tires and rim size on a 3" lift plus the 2" stock? Will they rub. I am looking to get some of these puppies but not if they will rub. Any recommendations on sizes along these lines?
Well I was thinking that you would still get the stock lift plus the spacers from the toyotec lift kit. I am looking at the 3" lift from them. I am also wanting to run these tires/rims. Sorry for the newbie questions. Just want to see if my math is correct. Would I need a different lift option like the coilovers? Mine are 4". You can click on the link in my sig to see pic's if you want.
Sig is corrected...thank you. Coilovers won't give you more of a lift, it will just ride much better and it won't settle like a spacer lift will. I have the Revtek 3" kit and the front has settled probably a 1/2" or so. Here's a good articke on the different lift options with pro's and con's http://customtacos.com/tech/index.php?page=index_v2&id=137&c=10 if I were to do again, I would get the same tires but opt for coils instead of spacers (Donahoe's Camburg's, etc..).zosimov21 said:Well I was thinking that you would still get the stock lift plus the spacers from the toyotec lift kit. Ps your sig doesnt have your yahoo username so I cant see the pics.![]()
Yeah but this is much more money than say just the spacer kit. Any problems in running the lift w/o the new rims? Can only swing a few mods at a time. :xcrybaby:TACO 4X4 said:if I were to do again, I would get the same tires but opt for coils instead of spacers (Donahoe's Camburg's, etc..).
Which is the very reason I went with spacers as well. Like Grumpy said above, you can probably run up to the metric equiavlent of a 32" and be ok. Going to 33's on stock you'll run into bumping the upper arm and the frame when turning. Even at 4" of backspacing I hit the frame when fully turned.zosimov21 said:Yeah but this is much more money than say just the spacer kit. Any problems in running the lift w/o the new rims? SAWs, as the affectionately called, are Sway-A-way(the SAW part) RaceRunner Coilovers. My truck does have fender flares, but the are the stock toyota pieces. I'm assuming that you are asking if they are fiberglass fenders and they are not, just the stockers. here are a couple of links to SAWs and other coilover manufactures. Many people on this board, as of late, are running Danahoes or Camburg 2.5" setups...if I would have waited a bit longer, I would have gone this route hoes, as they are called, in the front. for the money though, I like my SAW 2.0s.zosimov21 said:@themariachi Any links you can give me on the SAW's ? I'm assuming these are coilovers from what you are describing. Does your truck have the fender flairs? Can't tell from the pic.
