I got a 2.7L 98 tacoma standard cab..... I had to recently change my o2 sensors. I turned the check engine light off and a couple of weeks later it came back on.. I got it diagnosed and it came back as "no problem found".... I got the light turned off and shortly afterwards it came back on.... still no problem found. I also noticed my gas is gettin sucked down! i calculated 14.6 mpg on my last 2 tanks. If it matters i run 32" all-terrains... Never had this problem before but i thought that maybe the low mpg and EC light might be related... I mean i knew my mpg would be low but never that low... any idea?
Also if that is normal does anyone have any ideas on tricks to increase my mpg....Every little bit counts

When you say you've turned off the check engine light.... how are you doing that? It may be that you're not properly resetting the computer. If it's not reset properly, it's possible it'll keep turning back on. That wouldn't explain your low mpg, though.

how can they not find out what the cel is? The truck, somewhere has a sensor sending the c.e.l. so there has to be a code to pick up w/a scan tool.

i use the diagnostic tool to reset the code.... and for some reason it keeps poping up as no problem found....i thought the same reason but i dunno whats up.... wat about the gas ... you know anything?

Maybe you should re-check your o2 sensors. You said all this happened after you replaced them....maybe one of them is faulty or damaged. Just a thought.

ha duct tape may not fix this one..... o yea and it didnt hold it shut like i wanted...

In my previous truck, 90 33re, the front O2 sensor was not working to par and after I swapped it, the check engine light went off and I got 2mpg better.

What kind of O2 sensor did you get? I have read that universals can be shitty. Bosche are good (thats what I had) and obviously Toyotas, maybe some others...
