brake problems

I checked my brakes today to see how they were doing and i was shocked and pissed to see that one pad was worn down to the pins and the other looked brand new. The only thing is there isnt any noise from the brakes even though there is no pad on one side. THe only thing i could think that would cause this is a bad caliper. But could it be something else. Any one replace one for a 95 4x4 to give me a price range?

They dont make noise yet but I do have a noise in the front end at about 23-25 mph. It only happens at this speed but i dont think its the brakes. Anything>?

Brakes? heck I thought you had a Break problem. I waz gonna suggest you complain to your shop steward :p

there was a thread about this quite some time back on the old board...something about and internal caliper problem or bad seal causing uneven pressure exerted on the pads? can't remember.

More than likely it`s a stuck piston but don`t rule out the flexible rubber brake line that attaches to your caliper. I`ve seen them deteriorate/collapse on the inside and hold pressure to the caliper after you remove your foot from the brake.
Don`t know a price of replacement for either.
