Brighter Backup Bulbs for '02?? (Bulb #921)

Hey all,

So I've wanted to (for a long time!) do the 50W Blazer backup light mod to get some extra lumens out the rear end, but it seems my backup bulbs are different than the style that I have found available. Does Blazer (or anybody else) make the light I am looking for?? According to my findings, I am running a 921 reverse bulb. Sound right??

Thanks,

Beave

Yeah... What about us '00-and-up guys!? I have scoured the internet only to turn up some LED 921's on EBAY.... Dang!!!

One thing I wondered; The Blazer bulbs have the metal seat/connection, while our 921's are a glass-based bulb. Could one remove the Blazers metal end to expose the connection that we really need??

Have you trimmed the outer baffle that is part of the reverse light section. It gives off a lot more light.

Im not sure exactly what the wattage is... I'm assuming maybe 20W per bulb?? I've thought about trimming the edges, but would rather just go with a brighter bulb.

Thanks for the help,
