CALICO

.
Our annual Calico event is coming up on April 20th & 21th, 2019. We will have people camping out starting Friday night through Sunday. The planned runs will be on Saturday.

Calico was a booming silver mining town in the 1880's. In its heyday, it had over 500 operating mines. The decreasing value of silver led to its demise by the turn of the century. Most of the trails/roads we use for our runs were established routes for accessing the mines and removing the ore. Many mines are still accessible but please use caution.

Vehicle minimum requirements for the hard runs (Doran/Odessa loop):
33" tires
one locker
sliders
spare

An easy run has not been planned. However, if there’s enough interest and we can get a trail lead we can add one in.
Run schedule (subject to change based on vehicle count)

Run #1 (hard) - Doran/Odessa loop – Saturday 9am
Run #2 (easy) – TBD (only if enough interest) – Saturday 9am

EDITS- none

Here are some pics from the previous years.

Camp Site/Meeting Location – The main group camping spot will be the same as previous years – about 1.8 miles in on Phillips Loop Road just off to the left of Mule Canyon Road. No permits (or reservations) are required since it is located on BLM land. It is dry camping meaning there are no facilities and it’s a 5mi drive into town so what you bring is what you get. And, as always – Pack it in, pack it out! I plan to go out on Friday to secure the spot.

The list is shaping up rather nicely. I was getting worried last week that Easter was having more impact than expected but it turns out there are plenty of heathens that like wheeling.
.
Currently we have; 7 that are in, 2 maybes, 3 extra rigs, and most are camping.

Good lord man, fix your junk! Good thing you put all that money into getting it “trail readier” than it was. SAS, 3-link, 40’s, hydro assist, super nitro powered tool less adjustable bump stops, curb feelers, static straps, etc. Has it seen a trail since you started?

Fix. Your. Junk......Please. And don’t forget your shovel.
