i have a rear TRD axle with locker sitting in my basement that i wanted to swap in for my non-TRD one. My problem is that i don't have the wiring set up yet (i'm going the 2-relay route but wanted to take my time and get it right, putting fuses in, LEDs, etc)..

can the locker be put onto the Diff in "unlocked" mode. the guy who sold me the axle seemed to think that the locker needs to be locked to come out (or go back in). if it does need to be locked, i can't put the axle in until i get the wiring. if it can be set to "unlocked", i can enjoy a newer axle (w/ nice drums) and work the wiring on my own time.

locker gurus - help me out please.

Hopefully when it was pulled it was left in the unlocked, which is the default.. I think he was refering to if you pull the third member for a regear, etc.. then it should be done in the locked state. But it can be maunaly put into an unlocked state and ran that way - basicaly it just stays whereever it was last set, locked or unlocked.

i can check when i get home whether it was locked or unlocked (by running current through the two wires). good to know that it maybe usable just as a regular axle w/o the electronics. thanks

If you have axles in it, just turn them. If they both turn the same direction, it's locked, if opposite, it's unlocked..

the axles are out of the axle shafts. although, that maybe a more sure way to tell.
