I'm gettin tired of having about 2cubic feet of free space in my bed and the toolbox ain't goin anywhere, so can I put the spare under the bed? It doesn't look like it'd fit, but I don't have the strength to go out there and hold it up under the bed to find out for sure. I just wanna know if it works before I go start strugglin w/ it. I took off the stock pulley thing and cross bars long ago but I think they are still in my garage somewhere.

Ok, thanks...I mean if there's room then I can just buy two ratchet straps and hold it up to the frame w/ those in an "X" across the tire and then throw it in the bed before I go wheelin.

Take the truck toolbox out of the bed, you don't need it when you have a cap. :D

Well, search for threads about it.

What Dick did was cut and relocate the hanger further up into the frame rails. I have not seen pictures, but it seemed straight forward.

You could PM him as well, he's very, very helpful.

I thought there was a writeup on the offroad.com/toyota pages related to the Tacoma Project. But I cant find it now. There was a write up that did talk about how they changed the spare tire carrier to fir 33x1250s and then related that a 35 could fit as well with adjustments....but I cant find it.
