I am looking to run a cat back system, I would like to run dual exhaust prob about 2.25''. I would like to keep my truck as quiet as possible and also have the performance as well. Alot of people are telling me to go with the magnaflow exhaust does anybody have any other suggestions. Right now I have an intake and I love the way the truck sounds right now with just the intake on it its not loud until you get on it and personally I think it sounds great stock but I really like the looks of the dual exhaust. Let me know thanks Dave

i believe that one pipe that is 2.25 would be the best set up for your truck unless you would like the to S/c that puppy and then you would go with one 2.5 pipe. the trucks stock size is 2.25, so just weld in the muffle. but your sound problem comes in because if you want to free up some preformance you have to make the exhaust passage more flowing which inturn allows the sound waves to come through more. cant have preformance exxhaust with keeping it quit. i have a magna flow on 2.5 and i think it is relatively quit to other mufflers. with the dual exhaust that is overkill and you will loose preformance with too big of pipes. you need some backpressure. you will lose your low end preformance . if you have to have dual exhaust you should just weld a pipe that goes nowhere , only the people can tell is if they look under your truck.

my opinon is to just get a magnaflow muffle and weld it into your stock pipes, for money and preformance reasons.

My stock piping wasn't a 2.25. Mine was 2.0. I want to upgrade to some 2.25 piping from the cat back though, but haen't decided if putting on a performance cat would be worth it. I have heard good / bad things about performance cats. Such as O2 sensors and check engine lights coming on and etc.

Thoughts ?

Yes, you intellectual performance minded Tacoma wizards, help both and many others to be sure, of us out. I would also like to know @ performance cats. Are they worth while? Benefits? Where to buy? Don't hear much talk from Gadget @ performance Cat-Backs......???

honestly all i can say is that performance cats are pointless on our exhaust systems, if our trucks (particularly v6s) had more complicated exhaust systems with 2 or more cats, then i can see where it can come in hand, i just think its too much money for an upgrade that is not necessary
