I have a 2005 Tacoma and I want to install a Cobra 75WXST CB radio in it. I read some place that it could interfer with some of the electrical systems in the Taco. What do I need to do to install this radio with out causing any technical problems By the way I can't remember where I read this. I tried to go back and find it but couldn't. So any help would be appreciated

well I mounted the grey "signal box" under the Shifter cover and trimmed the back side for the coax to fit in there so it's hidden. Then I drilled a hole in the passengers side of the shifter cover for the plug in to fit. I grounded the signal box to the metal frame that the lower dash cover is mounted. Then I tapped into the fuse box behind the dash for juice. My radio hangs on the dash just to the right of the center a/c vents.

is that the one with the cntrols in the mike and the box goes someplace????
is so, just don't put it near any of the computers in teh truck and wire it like obb said. make sure to tune (SWR) your antenna to the radio. a high (above 2.1) SWR can damage your output transistors-thats a bad thing

I have mine getting power off of the cigarette lighter since I wanted it to turn on and off with the accesories. Once in a while I get some engine noise through it. To avoid that you could probably, as stated, wire it up directly to your battery. Just make sure you remember to turn it off! :D

The disclaimer about the interference is a standard line to CYA. Its mostly targetted at higher wattage radios like some HAM rigs and stuff like that. I run well over 500 watts in my truck. As long as things are tuned properly, you shouldn't have any issue.
