how do you know when it is a good time to change out your shocks. the guy that owned my truck b4 put some tokico shocks up front. i got the trailmasters in the rear and are fairly new. I was wondering when , if any, was a good time to replace the fronts. not really having any problems with them just wondering how long you guys are running yours before you replace them.

I would replace them when they start to get "wavy" but that is just my take on it. If you can stand the oceanlike ride then keep em on till they leak :)

  • When you bounce up and down more than once after hitting a bump,
  • when the bushings are shot (no sense in changing out bushings on an OEM shock,
  • when you have money burning a hole in your pocket and want something better.

hytenor your avatars give me nightmares, especially that pope one. shocks are just a personal preference, if you dont offroad alot and dont mind the bouncing then dont change them but it doesnt cost alot of money to put some freshies on every 30-50k miles. my OE bils leaked and i still kept them on because it didnt bother me, until i offroaded, then it bothered me. hah

Pope one?? you got me there. the current costume (court jester) was from the 'party' scene of Eugene Onegin last fall.
