I have a 2000 3.6 with 80,000 miles.

I did the lazy man's oil change on Saturday and went to Jiffy Lube. I had them change the PCV valve while I was there because I can't remember the last time it was changed.

Now my check enging light is on. Do you think one has anything to do with the other.

Any simple things I could check before I bite the bullet and take it in.

Thanks.

O2 sensor has a life of about 60,000 miles. If you haven't replaced those, that will cause a check engine light to appear.

Autozone will run a check for free. If it is the 02 sensor, be ready for $$$$.

get a code reader and scan it, thats the only way to know for sure. once you know the code, post it here and someone will know what it is.

It looks like it's in there correctly. I just thought is was funny that the light came on soon after it was replaced. Could be a coincidence I guess. I'll go Autozone and get the code read.

Thanks for the replies fellas!!
