The check engine light (2001 Tundra, not my 1998 Taco) came on yesterday........my weak battery, the original Toyo battery that came with the truck new has been weak and finally gave up today......changed out the battery and tried to save the PCM memory with a memory save running to the cig lighter, but failed, so now the check engine light is not on any more......do I have to wait until it comes on again before I take it in to be checked out??

Drive it. If the problem happens again the light will come on.

It's always a good idea to have it checked anyway. If something is wrong it will show up when they test it. Only takes a few minutes and places like AutoZone do it for free. If you drive it around and it is something serious it could be much more costly. Mike

Better to pull the EFI fuse for 5 minutes, or so, that way you don't have to reset all your radio stations. :)
