ok ran through a trail today..all dirt..and dust..with out an airfulter..stupid i know..dont havta tell me..but it idles at 2000..and when im in drive its at 1200..and like 5 hours later i get a check engine light..anyone know what the prob is?.specifically..not just 'oh youre stupid'

you could have contaminated the mass air sensor running without an air filter, got any codes to post. if not go to autozone and have them check the codes then post them here otherwise you wont get much help.

i dont really care about the light..i care about the engine reving so high..i reset the light cuz it was annoying with the battery..


i turned it on this morning..and it idled at 1100..then once it warmed up its back to 2000

i dumped my stock exhaust about 1/2" after the muffler..and since then it hasnt been running well at all..i went to run it in the dirt..and like..after that..it was idling in PARK and NEUTRAL at 2100..then DRIVE 3 and 2 and REVERSE were at 1200..then tonight im driving..pop on the freeway for like 3 exits...pull up to a light..and the rpms drop to like 400..and in neutral the engine wont hold an idle..it cuts out...

is this from a lack of backpressure?..or something else..need help fast..


i realized it wasnt the intake thats causing the problem..unless its the mass airflow sensor..
