Hey guys, I'm installing a heavy duty plug and socket in the back of my 1st gen 4runner to run a smittybuilt compressor, power inverter, etc.. Just wondering if a chassis ground would be sufficient, or if you think I should run a dedicated ground cable back to the battery. Running 8 gauge wire, 30 amp fuse. Thanks

Chassis ground is fine, but be sure you ground to the body, not the frame since the frame isn't bonded to the body. You should also consider upgrading your body ground from the battery to the body. Usually Toyota has a 10ga or 8ga ground wire, so it would be good to bump that up to a 4ga wire.

Did this when I put the yellow top in, so I should be fine, Thanks for the help!
