You will have newbie underneath your ID until you reach 25 posts?

You will not show up as a member until you reach 25 posts?

Until 1 of the 2 items above happens, this place is not counting your posts?!!?

Sounds like an if then go to loop w/out a solution?

It's probably set up as a case selection.

CASE PostCount
CASE 0-25
THEN "newbie"
CASE 26-X
THEN "member"
and so on...

the posts in chit chat don't count towards your post count. pretty typical type thing to do otherwise everyone would be padding their post count in here constantly.

I am way more newbylicious than you. Please explain? Who decides what is chit chat or not?

It's probably defined as either miscellaneous or off-topic conversations. It's a way to judge the relative merits of one's meaningful contributions to the board I guess...

I believe all posting in the Off Topic folder and possibly its parent folder Miscellaneous, does not count towards your post ticker.

Why is everyone so concerned with their post count? Does it really matter?

It matters to the post whores and to those who don't like being called nOObs.

I also think it would suck for those guys who were members for years and years and who had thousands of posts.

I am a nOOb here and @ delphi, and always will be. With that being said, I used to use post count #'s as a way of seeing just actually who I was communicating with. Not scientific but it was what I used to determine someones possible knowledge.

EDIT: Poor grammar

Posts in the Off-topic forum, do NOT count towards your post count.

Staff and forum sponsors have custom titles.

I had 13482 posts on Delphi, now I have less than 30. Do I care? Nope. Besides, post count has nothing to do with someone's knowledge of Tacomas and four-wheeling.

I know....it was just one of many unscientific indicators that I used to determine someones value on the interweb.

Instead of post count, each person should have under their name:

- How many years they have been wheeling
- How many people they have helped wrench on their truck
- How much time and money was donated to keep trails open
- How many noobs were shown around

etc.

Post count doesn't mean shit. Really.

Post count, as Mike said, is irrellavent. Surfing a 4x4 forum and talking smack with your buddies doesn't mean anything. The point is to actually get out and wheel.

This is the worst, most confusing, crappy and impersonal forum I have ever had the displeasure of posting on.

All you do is bitch and complain. Here's an idea: Start you're own club (Whiny Ass Tacoma Owners Assocation Who Like To Cry About The InterNet) and start you're own board on delphi. :stfu:
