Any problems with accuracy at different speeds?
any problems with the speedo going 'wacho' at times.
price you paid?
how hard to install?
just wondered.
cool, thanks. I've gotten pretty close with swapping speedo drive gears but I'm still 3% off.joeylead said:I bought one a few years ago when I installed my 32's. The install was simple, I used a writeup I found online, but have since lost lthe link. All you do to hook it into the speedo circuit is cut the wire cominf from the speed sensor on the tranny (green i think), run it to the unit, then to the other end of the wire. Then it is a simple matter of power and ground. I can get it pretty close to accurate, but I am not using any real method of testing (just those speec sheckers that the cops put out). Sometimes when I am not really moving, the speedo jumps up, then goes down, but it really isnt a big deal. If I remember, I paid somewher ein the neighborhood of 80 bucks. It is well worth the money i think. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.
perfect! thanksVolcomTacoma said:Have you seen this writeup: http://128.83.80.200/taco/speedo.html
Hmm, good question. I noticed that the sgi-5 can't be used with ABS.afcajun said:So i'm guessing only difference in the SGI-7 from the one in the link SGI-5 is the abilitly to store two ratios instead of just one in case you want to do seasonal tire changes of two unlike tire sizes...or if you had 33's for the road and 35's for muddin...correct? I think i'll save the 20 bucks if this is the only difference.
This issue came up before, and it was determined that the SGI-5 works just fine with ABS, they just don't want to say that for liability reasons.hytenor said:Hmm, good question. I noticed that the sgi-5 can't be used with ABS.

is it the SGI-7?
mine seems pretty consistent across speeds. within couple MPH. I used a GPS to cal the unit. On the tranny plug I ran the signal wire and pulled the power and ground from there also and its easy. jsut ran the 3 cables into the cab. never noticed the speedo go whacky. paid 'bout $80 shipped.hytenor said:and how is it working for you?

on both mine and another had to use output #2. Output #1 didn't show anything on speedo.03trdblack said:Hey guys w/ the Dakota,
What output number did you use when you installed it? I was confused since there were more than one place to put your output wire.
no pics. its easy. 3 wires go to tranny for speedo, 1=power, 1=ground and other is speedo signal. directions pretty easy to follow.98 Taco said:Grumpy, do you hve a pic of the install?
