I'm about to purchase a Dana 44 axle for $100 that came out of an 88 Grand Wagoneer. It comes complete with steering linkage and rotors with the 6 lug bolt pattern. I didn't get the wms to wms, but it is stock from a Grand Wagoneer, so it should be the right width. Is this the preferred axle for doing a SAS? I'm going to re-gear it w/4.88 and ARB locker....

If the axle has the auto disconnect hubs, is the disconnect assembly visible from the exterior of the axle?

I'm viewing a photo that shows the exterior but can see the hubs....
