Would Dana 60s out of an old f250 work on my tacoma 02 sas? how hard is it to get them to work? Should i just get some dana 44s and beef them up. i want to run 38s or 39s detroits F/R with 2 ton high angle driveshafts. which setup would be better for an every day driver?

Shannon (TacoZilla)has a 60 up front, I have one in the rear. Mine was custom built, I don't know about Shannon. FrankenTaco might be 60 up front, not sure.

I recommend against a Detroit in the front. You'll have limited steering, and the steering componets will be under alot of strain. The front tires really need to turn at different speeds when turning, and that will load up the axle u-joints. I suggest a good LSD or switchable locker up front, whatever you want in the rear.

I have full width D60's front and rear. Detroit in the front and full spool in the rear. My rig is not my daily driver, however it is nice to drive when I do drive it on the street from time to time.

How much are you looking at paying for the pair if you don't mind me asking? What year F-250 will they be coming out of?

it will probably be my cousins old 74 f250 he has at his shop but i think im am just going to do a dana 44 swap instead and keep the stock 8incher in the rear and put a detroit locker in the rear and a lock right in the front with 35x14.50x16 SSRs. if i do this what gear ratio should i run in them with the stock 5 speed and Tcase? 4.56 or 4.88?

You're running 5:29's on 33's? I'm running 5:38's on my 40's and am at the stock ratio. You must can melt the tires off your rig at the red lights! :) How's your mpg if you don't mind me askin?

I am running 4.88's with 35's and I think it is perfect. I have good crawling power and can still run on the interstate. Which is really nice since most wheelin places are over 2 hours away. My speedo reads 5 MPH faster than actual speed which puts me at just lower than stock gears. I plan on going with dual cases eventually. Which will give me the added low gears for off roading and I will still have the streetability I have now. As for the 60's I say go for it. If you can get them that easy why not. You will have less breakage issues.
