Deermeat / Jacob Trxnux = Scam Artist

I should have known better than to do business with Deermeat. I got a suspicious feeling right away when he asked me to send him a personal check for payment on this CV axle.

As one can see from reading this long list of PM correspondance that I have been more than understanding during this entire drawn out fiasco. I even offered to pay half of the shipping costs after he sent me a junk axle simply b/c I gave him the benefit of the doubt and accepted that he had just made a mistake and would make up for it by giving me a refund. Well after one months time I am tired of waiting. It has been two weeks since Jacob offered me a refund stating he would send it via paypal once he got his check. Ironically, Jacob didnt have paypal when I wanted to use it to send him the money. Normally I wont do business with anyone who doesnt use paypal... like I said, I should have known better. Since I have found out that he has used multiple names and cancelled e mail addresses in an attempt to evade me.

I can only conclude that Jacob Trxnux didnt want to accept payment via paypal b/c he intended to send me a junk axle from the beginning and didnt want me to be able to file a complaint through paypal. I say this b/c as mentioned above, he was going to "paypal" me a refund, which apparently was another lie.

As one can see from this post that I tried to give Deermeat, aka Curtis, aka Jacob ample opportunity to make things right and he has failed to reply to my multiple PM's, e-mails, and phone calls over the past week.

Personal checks are a very good thing.
You've got his address in TN, right?
I'll be going home soon, right?
I'll only charge you 50% collection if you are willing to wait, or if you need it sooner I could make some calls ;)

And if you're wondering why I care, I basically think bad sellers should be strung up by their nuts with greasy twine just high enough off the ground to get a palm down- then shot with a bb gun; repeatedly.
yeah thats bullshit. hes pretty much screwed around here now im sure
Thats werid I jsut searched some of his threads and it seems like this is the first time it has happened. He has sold some other stuff and it looks like the deal went through fine. Not defend his actions with your deal but it jsut seems funny you know.
I bought a front locker from him a while back. The personal check payment slowed the transaction significantly but it eventually got there and he shipped it out.
The return address on the box says...

If you get the $50. back donate it to ttora. I have pretty much written the whole thing off at this point as "tuition" in remembering just how fast you can get screwed over the internet. Its just surprising because I have been buying and selling alot on ttora well back into the Delphi days and have NEVER had a single problem until now. I just hate to see anyone else get screwed by this guy. He probably has already changed his identity and started a new account as another member has sugested to me.

After he asked for a personal check I was suspicious so I checked the buyer section and found one other buyer who gave him positive feedback so I took a chance. But how long do I have to wait for my refund when I get no replies after a week? I didnt want it to come tho this but I didnt sell a junk axle and then drop off of the map.
I'll see if I can look up some old friends in Memphis to go over to Sportsman's Warehouse and start shit with him at work :D
You wanna fuck with somebody- fuck with his livelihood. Probably not a job-market priority working at a retail camo outlet.

Oh don't get me wrong I am not defending him and I think you are well within your rights to let everyone on this board know and whatever other 4x4 ones you think/know he might be on. I just though that it was werid for someone with a decent history here with other sales and posting pictures in their SAS thread that has faces in it wouldn't scam...it would be stupid.
Thats what I thought too, maybe its a misunderstanding but Im tired of being MR. Nice Guy. Bottom line is I bought something from this tool a month ago and he shipped me junk and is now evading me IMO. It is rather stupid to do this sort of thing when you, your buddies, and your trucks pics are all over the place.
bummer man..... i hope you get your money back. its hard when somebody scams you (especially here) b/c alot of people in the offroad community are stand up poeple.
Screw that *******. His SAS looks like a kindergarder welded it with boogers and half cut pieces. He supported it using his blocks from Jenga...

If you still need some ADD cv's, I have two sitting in my garage, along with the spindles. I'll be upfront, nothing is damaged at all, except for the fact that in 4wd, they vibrate if you do over 50. They do not make any clunking noises and have no play. They are tight and only have 70k on them. Baffles me why they vibrate...

I hope that everything follows through. Wish I could help!
Deermeat should be
There's no excuse for this kinda shiat...

Anyone want to track down an IP?
try this: call the sportsman's warehouse and ask for the name of the manager. then, write a letter to the manager and explain to the manager your situation and that curtis is using the store's shipping address to perpetuate mail fraud and is claiming to be acting under the authority of sportsman's warehouse. add that if the situation is not rectified in x days, you will contact the state attorney general, us postmaster, their local law enforcement, your own attorney and sportsman's warehouse corporate. attach a copy of the shipping label he used.

This could cost him his job... you may or may not want this particular result...
yup, but if someone screwed me intentionally, their job security is the least of my worries.

btw-i need to get back to you on the sammi. i went away for the weekend and got back late last night. thanks!

But if he's no longer employed there then how can the situation ever be fixed? So he'll be fired...doesn't make the OP's situation any better!
Maybe he's already been fired... and that's why he can't own up to his responsibilities...

Getting fired is not as bad as getting shot... ;)

Unless you fire him with a glock... :D
To scam someone on TTORA for a couple bucks is pretty cheesy. It's not the mistakes we make, it's what we do to make them right is what counts! ;)
I hope he acts like a man and does the right thing here. Please keep us updated.

the point obviously is not to get him fired. the point is to get his manager to apply pressure to him. perhaps it could get him fired, then the $50 is probably gone. but unless he's a total bonehead or a totally disposable employee, the manager will likely tell him to get his act together and resolve the problem before it gets to corporate and escalates.
