Deermeat / Jacob Trxnux = Scam Artist

I should have known better than to do business with Deermeat. I got a suspicious feeling right away when he asked me to send him a personal check for payment on this CV axle.

As one can see from reading this long list of PM correspondance that I have been more than understanding during this entire drawn out fiasco. I even offered to pay half of the shipping costs after he sent me a junk axle simply b/c I gave him the benefit of the doubt and accepted that he had just made a mistake and would make up for it by giving me a refund. Well after one months time I am tired of waiting. It has been two weeks since Jacob offered me a refund stating he would send it via paypal once he got his check. Ironically, Jacob didnt have paypal when I wanted to use it to send him the money. Normally I wont do business with anyone who doesnt use paypal... like I said, I should have known better. Since I have found out that he has used multiple names and cancelled e mail addresses in an attempt to evade me.

I can only conclude that Jacob Trxnux didnt want to accept payment via paypal b/c he intended to send me a junk axle from the beginning and didnt want me to be able to file a complaint through paypal. I say this b/c as mentioned above, he was going to "paypal" me a refund, which apparently was another lie.

As one can see from this post that I tried to give Deermeat, aka Curtis, aka Jacob ample opportunity to make things right and he has failed to reply to my multiple PM's, e-mails, and phone calls over the past week.

The return address on the box says...

If you get the $50. back donate it to ttora. I have pretty much written the whole thing off at this point as "tuition" in remembering just how fast you can get screwed over the internet. Its just surprising because I have been buying and selling alot on ttora well back into the Delphi days and have NEVER had a single problem until now. I just hate to see anyone else get screwed by this guy. He probably has already changed his identity and started a new account as another member has sugested to me.

Thats werid I jsut searched some of his threads and it seems like this is the first time it has happened. He has sold some other stuff and it looks like the deal went through fine. Not defend his actions with your deal but it jsut seems funny you know.
After he asked for a personal check I was suspicious so I checked the buyer section and found one other buyer who gave him positive feedback so I took a chance. But how long do I have to wait for my refund when I get no replies after a week? I didnt want it to come tho this but I didnt sell a junk axle and then drop off of the map.

Thats what I thought too, maybe its a misunderstanding but Im tired of being MR. Nice Guy. Bottom line is I bought something from this tool a month ago and he shipped me junk and is now evading me IMO. It is rather stupid to do this sort of thing when you, your buddies, and your trucks pics are all over the place.

I was going to try to contact him on the TN ttora forum but it wants me to re-register as a new user to post on their message board. Im hoping someone from his local area sees this and knows whats up with this guy.

try this: call the sportsman's warehouse and ask for the name of the manager. then, write a letter to the manager and explain to the manager your situation and that curtis is using the store's shipping address to perpetuate mail fraud and is claiming to be acting under the authority of sportsman's warehouse. add that if the situation is not rectified in x days, you will contact the state attorney general, us postmaster, their local law enforcement, your own attorney and sportsman's warehouse corporate. attach a copy of the shipping label he used.
This is actually a good idea, if he doesnt contact me in a day or two I will send a letter to his work... ATTN: Mangager Of Sprortsmans Warehouse, to see if he's aware that one of his employees is commiting mail fraud at work during business hours.

I just sent him this PM. If he doesnt want me contacting his employer and or local authorities he should reply ASAP.

"Hey, I have tried repeadedly to contact you via PM. Your e mail is blocked, and since I have every reason to believe that you are now dodgeing me I feel that I am justified in progressing to the next stage.

I will be sending a letter to your work where the package was shipped from asking the Manager why he allows his employees to commit mail fraud from his store. I also plan to contact your local law enforcement officials and file charges of mail fraud against you. I feel that I have been more than patient with you up until now. However, if I do not get a reply and/ or refund from you soon I will make it my daily mission to cause you grief."

If I had read this before hand I would have said something to him but I met Deermeat today when he came to Knoxville from Memphis and traded rigs with me. The yota you see in the pics is now mine and he got my XJ. I only met him today and spent about an hour and a half with him but he seemed like a good guy. I hope this can be resolved and taken care of in a timely manner. Mojavehanna, I will PM you his personal e-mail account so you may try to contact him more directly. Good luck.
Hey thanks for the e mail address. Maybe he is out of the Toyota business now that he has an XJ and figures a bad rep on this forum is no big loss

Sent tonight to Deermeats e mail...

"Hey Curtis why are you dodging me? Now that you traded your truck for a Jeep you feel that ttora and your prior obligations are over?

I didnt want to be a dick, but you might want to check the TTORA forum and get up to speed on this issue and / or make things right by sending me a refund. Otherwise Im sending a letter to your boss for starters, since Sportsmans Warehouse # 133 is where you shipped the axle from, and where you work. You implicated them in mail fraud as well as yourself.

This is a felony in most states, which is what you did by selling me something other than what was advertised by you and and shipping it to me and then evading contact with me. I'll pursue the issue with the help of the Tennessee court system and law enforcement. All of this over $43. is almost the most stupid thing I've ever heard of, but its your call dude.

Refund what is rightfully mine soon or I will continue with this course of action."

WTF? So he intentionally screwed me. If he used a fake name as a return address that doesnt look like he ever had good intentions. So whats the dudes real name John, Curtis, or Jacob?

Sounds like I was right on the money, SCAM ARTIST!

Im guessing his real name may be Jacob Tran? In either case he responded to Curtis when I called him that in a PM. Just further proof that he was intending to commit fraud on this forum.

Send him an e mail and ask him why.

Mojavehanna. The TN board is trying to track him down as well, cause we don't need this kind of mess on the TN chapter as well.

rredalty if you get ahold of Duby have him look over the truck real well to make sure that everything is safe and that the kid put everything back together right.
Thanks, If I do get him to send my money back Im going to donate it to ttora. The members here are doing all of the work anyway :D

All I know is that deermeat's girlfriend lost her leg a little while back and he put on a fund raiser to try and get her a prosthetic leg. He rarely gets on the NB or the TN board from what I understand. I have gotten a few things from him and have never been let down. He has also been very helpful to me in the past with looking for parts and such. Not saying that he's an angel or anything but I am kind of surprised all this is going on, especially over $50.
I too am surprised all of this is over $50. and I am sorry his girlfriend is having issues. However, I have sent at least four PM's in the last week and an e mail, and Im going to call his cell. He has given me a false name, he shipped the package from work with his work return address, all of this is too suspicious for me to give him the benefit of the doubt any longer.

I really have written off the money at this point but I want everyone else to know to no do business with this guy. Dealings face to face usually are very different then dealings 2k miles away. If he sends a $50. refund then he wont have to worry about this anymore.

Did you ever think about the possibility that one of his buddies, that maybe works at sportsmans warehouse, could have shipped it for him? Just a thought
I have many sources, including his own sig. that he works at Sportsmans Warehouse.

Just called him at (901) 3x1-x9x1... no answer

called (901) 2x9-x7x6 (cell I believe) and left him a message saying to contact me and we can work something out.

Just tried to e mail him and found out the the e mail account at Yahoo that worked yesterday no longer works.
