If you get the $50. back donate it to ttora. I have pretty much written the whole thing off at this point as "tuition" in remembering just how fast you can get screwed over the internet. Its just surprising because I have been buying and selling alot on ttora well back into the Delphi days and have NEVER had a single problem until now. I just hate to see anyone else get screwed by this guy. He probably has already changed his identity and started a new account as another member has sugested to me.

try this: call the sportsman's warehouse and ask for the name of the manager. then, write a letter to the manager and explain to the manager your situation and that curtis is using the store's shipping address to perpetuate mail fraud and is claiming to be acting under the authority of sportsman's warehouse. add that if the situation is not rectified in x days, you will contact the state attorney general, us postmaster, their local law enforcement, your own attorney and sportsman's warehouse corporate. attach a copy of the shipping label he used.

But if he's no longer employed there then how can the situation ever be fixed? So he'll be fired...doesn't make the OP's situation any better!

the point obviously is not to get him fired. the point is to get his manager to apply pressure to him. perhaps it could get him fired, then the $50 is probably gone. but unless he's a total bonehead or a totally disposable employee, the manager will likely tell him to get his act together and resolve the problem before it gets to corporate and escalates.

I realize its tough when people are having personal problems- but sometimes you just gotta deal with shit. Your problems causing other people problems is bullshit. Think about it- because he's having some problems, etc. and is dicking you around over $50 bucks, either temp or for good: he's about to cost his buddy at SW his job, his parents involved?, somebody like me takes $50 VERY seriously. I have to eat sandwhiches for lunch everyday and take coffee to school in a thermos to save $50 in 2 and a half weeks.
Just not worth it, inconvenience or not.

x2. also, didn't he just trade his taco for the xj? if so, obviously he's not in enough problems to still think about wheeling.

Non-TTORA. I am too lazy to verify the dates, but it sounded like they were pretty recent, mixed in with a fund raiser or two for Jill (I am sorry she got caught in the stirrup riding the horse. That's a terrible accident, but it sounds like she's doing great after what happened). You tend to frequent a few other boards.
