Hi guys. I have a '99 Taco and the doors lock automatically when I start the engine. Last night I accidently locked my keys in the truck because the door locked when I started the truck. Is there a way to disable the auto lock feature? Thanks.

It would have to be with the programming of the options for your keyless entry/alarm. Is your system factory or aftermarket? If so what brand?

Ok, Keyless entry system. I didn't even think about that. It is an Executive. I have never heard of that brand.

It says the auto lock feature can be turned off from inside the control module but doesn't give any details. You may have to contact the mfg or get a hold of the installation manual.

The module is probably behind the driver's kick panel. You could take the cover off and see if there are any dip switches you could flip to experiment. They're probably not labled though.

Hey flatland, is there any way you can get the owner's manual pdf or point me to one for a Karr alarm? I have one and it really sucks that I don't have the manual. I emailed Karr but got no response. I am installing power locks and don't know which wires send the lock/unlock signal so that I can tie it into the new locks and have keyless entry.

I think Karr alarms are made by audiovox. If you can't get help from Karr, check out the audiovox website they have all of their installation manuals available in pdf format.

I bet the wires you want are a seperate 2 or 3 pin connector on the side of the module near where the LED plugs in. Since your truck never had power locks the wires may or may not be there but the connector is. If the wires are there it looks like the audiovox colors are red and green for lock and unlock.
