I took out my 3.5" rear tapered blocks about a month ago, and put in 2" shackles and a 1.5" Wheelers AAL. Including my body lift, I have a total of 4.5" of lift roughly. I just got some 33x12.5/15 MTR's and put them on and have been noticing wierd vibrations. Could this be because my pinion angle is off b/c I dont have axle shims/wedges in the rear? What angle shim/wedge should I get? Thanks for the help.

Did you measure your pinion angle before and after the mods?

I removed a tapered block and installed an AAL recently, it changed my pinion angle by almost 1.5*. What you want is for your pinion to point directly at the carrier bearing (if you have a two-piece shaft).

No, I didnt measure before, slipped my mind...... Couldn't I just measure the angle that my old blocks have and use that angle? They were 3.5" blocks, and I replaced it with 3.5" of lift, so wouldnt it be the same?

Easiest way is to just crawl under your truck and look at the pinion and measure the angle of the driveshaft to the pinion. As Mike said it should be parallel. If the pinion is pointed slightly down, that may explain the vibes. Most likely it is only a degree or 2 difference.

When you lengthen the shackles you will rotate the pinion up some so just doing the same angle as the tapered blocks you had will likely over compensate.
