Hey: I was reading about the O shaped gasket for the intake. Is this really worth messing with? It sure looks like it is a minimal difference, but I don't know enough to know?! Anyone have some info one way or the other?

You want some turbulence in the intake...which making the flow more "laminar" with the "o" gasket is helping to eliminate.

...for force induction you create turbulence in other ways and an unobstructed throttle body would be better for air volume...but normally aspirated (N/A) removing the "D" gasket potentially takes away some of the turbulence that aids fuel atomization and the engineered flow dynamics...possibly why it is there in the first place?!

...if you are building a racing motor and want to maximize every aspect, then you would take the time to index the intake gaskets to get a better matched displacement for the higher octane and higher fuel pressure requirements!

IMO don't waste your time with this one. But do clean your throttle body every once in a while.
