Thats a good explanation if you have power doors and stuff but what about us people with the old window crank.

Autozone sells a tool to remove the clip behind the crank. I have seen people use a rag and work it back and forth behind the crank, seems like less chance of damage to your panel. Just watch that clip because they always go flying when I do it.

i got my package from crutchfield today. it contained a simple to read and understand break down of the door panel. even crutchfield's diagram had a picture of a guy using a rag to remove the clip behind the crank handle. thanks for the help.

Im having tons of trouble getting the crank back on!
It feels like my door panel is not as close to the door as it once was....
How are you supposed to get that little clip back on?
thanks

I used a bent paper clip to get the handle off. To get it back on just put the clip all the way back on to the handle and push it on to the shaft.
