what does everyone running blocks in the rear do to keep the parking brake cable off the leaf springs? I have OME rear spings and would like to add a 1" block
my brake cable runs over the leafs but i dont know that i really like it although i have seen another truck do this check out parksoffroad.com and go to the alcan install, this guy has the cable over as well but he has no block, my friend runs a 3 in aal and has the cable underneath the springs with no block, and right now im in the process of trying to rid this block, i dont really like it you can feel the axle wrap when you take off, if i had a s/c like i want i would probably slip a block and turn the diff, i've seen it happen with stacked blocks and its not pretty, but if you absolutely must i would say it probably wont hurt.

I have OME 2.25" rear springs, the cable goes over top the springs now but touches. I am running 33-10.5-15 BFG's that rub slightly on the front edge of the rear fenders, I would like to add the 1" block to eliminate that problem
I am running 3" cough*blocks*cough  and the cable does not touch. If I were you I would go with a 1"-1 1/2" shackle to gain the height instead of a block. I am working on getting a set of custom leaves in the future so I can trash the blocks.

I am guessing that wih a 3" block your cable is able to go under (not over) the springs, I am thinking about shackles, does anyone know if cornfed supplies hardware (bolts & bushing's) with his shackles, I don't think I will be able to remove the upper pin without destroying it, I could not remove it when I installed the OME's, most likely rusted to sleeve in bushing, Also by adding longer shackles would I be pivoting the springs/axle forward?

anybody have any thoughts ?
im not a fan of blocks so i would chop that even though i have some but am in the process of removing, oh and btw my brake cable dose touch w/ my setup. i dont know much about doing the shackles and how they work so i could really speak from that standpoint, all i know is that revolver shackles are sick.

I seen that set of plans for that rear bracket mod....but havent seen it since.I made a extension to see if it would work to keep them off my leaf springs adn it helped but made cables to short. If you were wanting to extend cables some how a extension would be a easy fix.I have an add-a-leaf and a 1"block adn the cable had a good bit of tension in them and the extension helped it out but i didnt wanna fool with cables yet.Id stay away from blocks also....best way to go is new leaf pack or shackle.Check that post about rebuilding your stock leafs with another set of Yota springs...Im doing mine soon
