does anyone know of a fix for the e-brake hitting the top of the leaf pack? i have a 02 d-cab with a rebuilt leaf pack that is now too tall.

If you don't need that much more clearance, just bend the two brackets that support it on the back of the axle.

if i did that, i think i would have to bend straight up to clear. i would also have to raise the center bracket also. i thought i saw some sort of picture of a bracket somewhere.

I have the same problem. Mine have been laying on the leaves for over 2 years. No problems so far. I would like to get them a little higher though so someone make a suggestion!

Nope, hes actually talking about the e-brake cable- where it crosses over the leaf pack.

exactly what i meant. that was a great write up. i didn't know about having to move the BPV. i thought all i had to do was reposition the e-brake.

rather than go through the trouble of making brackets etc. just bending the e-brake cable brackets worked for me, just had to readjust the tension to loosen it back up.

how critical is it to adjust the BPV?

I made some extension for the levers out of old angle iron I had laying around also had to remove cables guides that bolted to the axle and change up center pivot but it has worked good for me.
