yup, if you don't have a reserve price the buy-it-now comes off automatically. If you want to keep the buy-it-now on the auction you need to set a reserve. But once bids go over your reserve, the buy-it-now comes off.

Buy it Now is supposed to be for people that just want to come in and buy something. Once people are bidding and a reserve price (if any) is met then its left to the highest bidder and the BIN is removed.
