I read on Gadgets site that the propper location for the probe to be installed is about 5 inches from the port on cylinder #1. Maybe a stupid question but how do I determine which one is the number one cylinder? BTW my truck is an 2001 3.4L.

It's the front-most cylinder on the passenger side.

The odd-numbered cylinders are on the passenger side on a V-6, drivers side on a V-8.
