Im considering buying some used Fabtech coilovers, and Im concerned about wear. How many miles should I expect to get out of a pair with moderate to little wheeling? Also how much would it cost me to rebuild them. Thanks

I'm running a set that I bought from a friend. They had about 10k miles on them. I had them rebuilt by a friend (estimate about $50), and they run great. Make sure you get the rebuildable ones, and you should be good to go until you want something nicer.

Make sure the ones you are buying are the rebuildible ones. Fabtech has two rebuildable coilovers: the 2.5" sway-a-way built coilovers (dirt logic I think they call them) and the Fox 2.0" (knock off of the sway-a-way 2.0" coilover). Both of them have silver shock bodies. The ones that are not rebuildable are the ones with white shock bodies (however the shocks can be replaced for really cheap).

They will take a fair amount of beating before they will be need to be rebuilt. What I suggest you do, is, have them rebuilt before you install them. Then you are aware of their condition, and you won't end up with any suprises a few 100 miles down the road.

A few things:
-Fox is in no way a SAW knock off.
-"Dirt Logic 4.0 is a major step forward for Fabtech...built completely in-house, along with the new Dirt Logic 2.5 and 2.25 shocks." Quoted from DirtSports. P.34 Feb 05.

One inconsistancy:the keyword would be 'new.' As in the 'old' Fabtech coil-lift shocks might have been Fox or SAW built. I was confused about this issue recently because of reading both sides.

Peterson 4x4 also did a article on the Superduty 4.0 lift (coincidentally) and also said that the 4.0's were built in-house. That was the first time I read it and was somewhat confused.

Hey be careful what you say, hehe i have the non rebuildable ones and when the shocks blew they were 139.00 a piece to replace!!! not too cheap imo.
