Fiberglass Fenders

Anyone running fiberglass fenders? I'm looking to get some put on my '00 but I'm having trouble finding places in the SoCal area, any help would be appreciated.

Either Corona or Huntington would be my best bet, I'm in Lake Forest which is a few miles away from Irvine.

I got mine from Glassworks. Front are easy to install. Bedsides are a pain in the ass. I just cut out the stock bedsides with a sawzall.

Alright, I was just going to put fenders on first. Bedsides seem like they would be a pain in the ass. That's cheaper than I thought...

go to glassworks - they seem to fit better - not much! - but better than the others!. a metal nubbler works better than a sawzall on the bedsides.

get glassworks or hannemanns, either glass is good, and no moatter what you get, you will have to do some trimming to get a good fit(unless your lucky and get a pair that line up without any work) my hannemanns lined up good on the driver side, but major trimming on the pass side so i could close the hood.

i use mine to cover my tires, long travel sticks tires out, they also make more body clearance and make vehicle lghter

Well over this past weekend, we had a big old snow storm, a tree branch fell and hit my truck on my pass. front fender. ripped off the flare, put two dents, about the size of my fist and scratched it all up. my question is should i use this as an excuse to get fiberglass fenders or na? how hard are they to install? it all bolts on and off correct? is there any inner fender mods that i would have to do? also, would anyone be intrested in a pair of (solar silver) if thats the name, front fenders with some damage? lol thanks for any information anyone has on this.

the thing about fiberglass is its never perfect when your mounting it, so you may have to shave it, and the holes are NOT predrilled, you have to do that yourself also!

so mounting all depends on your technical abilities...

You lose the inner fender if you install fiberglass. If you look at the TLT project Tacoma, he got some plastic and made this own. You have to cut the mounting holes yourself, and the fit is not bad. It's not perfect, since it's a not a show truck, who cares.

I know its your setup and you can do whatever you want, but if you don't have long travel I would not go with that desert kit from GW. Its really wide and flares and lot and looks really weird on a truck without LT. The 4.5" or 3.5" flare is more mellow and would look a little better on a stock truck. And now since GW came out with their new 6.5" flared fenders, there seem to be quite a few of the 3.5 and 4.5 fenders for sale on dezertrangers.com for sale. Just my $.02

After posting that I took a closer look and noticed the same thing I thought it was a 4.5" flare. Thanks for your $.02, I was thinking the same thing. As for the setup, Donahoes/Deavers/Bilsteins with 32's

dont put the 6.5 desert kit on your truck, you will look really stupid.
