Of course the 2005 Tacoma I own has "plastic" covering the bed and bed rails thus offering no effective Ground Plane for a CB Antenna Instalation. Firestik offers the Firefly LG4-M2 model and says it does not requie a ground plane. Are there any members here who have used this setup? If so, where did you mount it and how did it work?
Thanks in Advance.

Mount it to the plastic surface anyway. Underneath the mount, bolt a crimped heavy gauge wire (or grounding braid) to the bottom of the mount and ground that wire to your frame by routing through the rails. Just keep your grounding wire as short as you can.

X2 you will just have to run a ground wire and it should work fine.

I am using the same antenna, but with a different mounting bracket and have no problems with it. I have it mounted on the toolbox.
